Australia Day Session

I finally got a chance to go and do some training. Tonight usually is track night, an interval session, however when I arrived Schultzy was the only person there. We completed a warm up hoping some others would turn up, but still nobody came.

Schultzy said he was going to do 4 x 1K reps, so I thought I would join him. We staggered the start so we would finish around the same time and set off for our four sets. We had a 400m Jog recovery for the first one and 200m JR with a little amount of standing recovery for the remainder. I ran the first three reps at a good pace and ran with schultzy for the last one pushing him to achieve a faster time each interval, which he did. After the reps we done an 800m slow jog as a cool down and then Schultzy left.

It felt quite quick, so I decided to remain behind and do a 2k run to finish the night with a total of 6k. I was feeling quite tired and set off trying to concentrate on form, by the end I had enough and felt it was a good workout. I have ran so many years training by myself that I can still achieve a good workout alone, however nothing can beat running with someone that can push you.

Tonight splits were:
(1) 1k - 3.26
(2) 1k - 3.21
(3) 1k - 3.32
(4) 1k - 4.23 pacing Schultzy
(5) 2k - 7.52

Today 6k
Week 6k
Month 69.6
YTD 69.6

Holy cow, again that's really fast. Sounds like a good workout for a day where everyone was having bbqs. :)

Ok Shane, you are getting scary fast!

And what's this pacing Schultzy stuff - we don't want him getting any faster ;-)
