4k - Interval Session

Just to ease the suspense out there, I didn't get in trouble for using the photos, which is great news.

Today was a day of again no plans, I did however do a large amount of squats throughout the day. Whenever I walked past the swiss ball I would complete a few sets. This I tell you has worked wonders. Weight bearing has improved significantly and the discomfort associated with doing the reps has subsided alot. I am on a good wicket, so I am going to continue to do this.

My leg was feeling great today after the exercises so I decided to go to the track. There is a session that Phil at the Run Inn usually organises, which is an interval/speed session and the start of each interval is handicapped, obviously the slower runners off first. It always totals 4k, split up into whatever he decides on the night. I arrived there about 6pm and done a couple of laps for warm up, there are usually a few there by this time, however tonight I was the first. This wasn't a good sign.

By 630pm the time when it actually starts Schultzy, another lady and myself were it. Phil turned up but due to lack of numbers there was no point him hanging around. So it was three of us, I was going to do some sort of session irrespective of numbers so we decided to do 2 x 800, 2 x 600, 3 x 400, with either a 200m or 400m jog recovery. A total of 4k.

I felt pretty good, my leg was much looser, being able to run a bit quicker now has brought me back to reality a little. I was pretty impressed that after the 10k run last weekend that my fitness wasn't too bad, but now that I am capable of running a faster pace I can really feel the fitness is lacking. All in all a good solid session.

2 x 800m - 3.20, 3.19
2 x 600m - 2.25, 2.20
3 x 400m - 1.35, 1.33, 1.36

Distance - 4k
YTD - 14k.

Good on you for doing the session regardless of numbers, not an easy thing to do.

They are great times for your reps, I can't wait to see how much they improve as you get back to full fitness.
