Week - 7k
Month - 10k
YTD - 881k
My first fathers day, Sam greeted me twice before 5 am this morning :( he has been having some restless sleeps over the past few days. At a more reasonable hour I got a present from him delivered by Cass as the package was twice the size of him with some goodies inside which was nice.
Anyway after feeling a little depressed about the legs I did end up going for a quick jog around the block yesterday to see how they were feeling after a few days rest. It wasn't the most pleasant run but there was no aching afterwards which was good, however I did only run 3k at 4.45 pace.
So on to today, a fairly casual day relaxing, Cass goes into hospital again tomorrow for take two of the surgery that will be performed on Thursday, so it was nice to spend some time just kicking back watching TV together.
About 4.30pm I headed out for another run. On the cards was between 5 -10k depending on how I was feeling. The first two km was tough going the lower legs felt horrible but they began to warm up and by 5k I was running pretty comfortable at a good pace. I wanted a good hit out, I also swapped shoes for something different, a pair that has a bit more cushion and just placed my orthotics inside them.
Overall the run went better than I expected, slight aching afterwards but I just iced up and now they feel pretty good. I ended up completing 7k in 30.48.

Hey Shane, good to see an improvement in the legs - hope it sticks around. Best wishes for the next week to you and Cass and Sam :)
Happy Fathers day for yesterday Shane.
Isn't it exciting to realise that you are really a dad now! Early mornings and all.
As for the scans - I did the same thing with my hip and kept running until I saw the doc so the pain would be present and currently.
Let us know how they go.
Oh and as usual - give Cass my love. Tell her we will all be thinking of her and missing her at BRRC this Sunday.
Happy First Ever Fathers Day Shane! Sounds like it was a good one, even if it was an early start. I'm sure you're not really complaining about being woken up by that little cutie :-)
All the best to Cass. And good luck with the scans.
Hi Shane, just playing catch up! Congrats on your first Fathers Day...good isn't it :)
Hope they can get to the bottom of the leg troubles with the scans and you get past it soon.
And all the best to Cass for thursday...hope it goes ahead this time and that it all goes well for her.
