Forced Absence

Week - 15k
Month - 15k
YTD - 536k

The combination of work and upgrading my internet to broadband has caused my absence to the blogging scene. Well that and I haven't particularily done anything exciting to write about either.

I have been also quite slack in reading everyones blogs besides the quick peek at some to see how they went in the major events that have been taking place in the past fortnight.

To get back to the training , over the past fortnight I have been a bit paranoid about the sore foot, the physio who I have been seeing for the shins said that it was just a bit of inflammation around a joint. I have some pretty potent anti inflams that have done wonders and saw me get back into it this week. I have been allowed to do between 20 -25k a week but have cut it down to below 20 until I see the physio next week.

Yesterday I went for a slow test run I felt pretty good however it is sooo damn cold now and I dont like it. Overall just a casual 25 minute run with some stretching.

Today I decided to go for a run at work with a mate who has been getting into the training lately. No real plan and just took it as it come. He set the pace as he was monitring his HR and didn't want to go above his aerobic threshold. We ended up running for about 56 mins and am guessing that it would have been approximately 11k at the pace we were running.

It was then off the physio for some massage which hasn't changed it still hurts like hell but is working wonders.

At this stage if all goes to plan I will be visiting my parents in NSW in August which turns out to be the same time the C2S is on, fancy that :) This will be a goal race where hopefully I will have some pretty good training under the belt and be able to run a respectable time for a change.

Well that's about it I am not allowed to run until the weekend and that is only 4k and another 5k on Tuesday before my next appt. The physio said I will then be able to increase it back to 25k and then gradually build from there.

Until then...

Whew, I was starting to get worried about you! I thought maybe little Sam was keeping you too busy to do much else. Then agagin, he probably is :-)

A good C2S is now a goal for me as well, as soon as I can train properly again it will be my focus.
