Well after Sundays decision to give West end a miss I lounged around all day inside. Good decision I think it was pretty cold outside when I peeled myself from under the doona to get the junk mail.
Monday, Queens Birthday, I think I like her majesty's birthday better than mine, at least you get a day off work for her's. After sitting around for most of the day procrastinating about if I should go for a run or not I found myself pulling the runners on and heading outside at 5pm. There is a fun run this weekend in my local area which I will do just as a training run, so I decided to give the course a once over before then.
It is an 8k course apparently according to the entry form through the streets of Bray Park. Not a bad course mostly flat with a few long gentle inclines that keep you honest. I ran the course in reverse so I didnt get the real feel of what it will be like, the reason for this is that I am relatively new to the area and dont know it very well along with the fact that I have been told that the park this run goes through can be quite dangerous at night.
Overall I ran about 4.30 pace and assuming I ran the correct course totalling about 7.5k. I then added some to get back home to round the day out with 7.87k in 35.48.
Back to work today which was very deserted, most people are out on exercise which I love. It makes my work at lot more pleasant when I dont get annoyed with little things throughout the day and can concentrate on what I need to do. The morning PT session comprised of myself and a mate so we decided to hit the trails on the barracks. There are alot of good runs through the hills and a pretty tough 7k cross country course which we completed today. We took it very easy, chatting most of the way around besides one section that took our breathe away even at 7min/k pace. After we had completed the course well most of it we continued on to see out 40 mins, which gave us a total of 6.74k.
Tomorrow is my physio appointment aswell as a dentist appointment, I dont know what posessed me in making these on the same day but all I know now is that I am in a world of hurt.

Good to see you're getting back into the training again Shane. No doubt you'll be refreshed by the break and I'm sure Samuel's been keeping you occupied while you were resting the legs!
The blue blog ... in honour of State Of Origin I imagine. Well, you think you will be in pain after the dentist and physio. That's nothing, wait'll you experience the agony of the cockroaches getting thrashed tonight.
