Last night when it cooled down abit, I decided to tackle the local area for a slow run. I live in Everton Hills in Brisbane and as the name suggest there are a few hills around. I started off a bit slow and slowly eased into it, my knee felt very good however as tempting as it was I just ploddered along at a comfortable pace.
My last run was 2 days prior and that was on a grass track, but given the way my leg felt last night I would prefer at this stage to run on a harder surface that is predictable ie no hidden pot holes etc.
I covered the distance in under 30 mins, and took it cautious down the hills about 6.5 - 8 min Km pace according to the garmin. When I got home I was sweating alot, and decided that would probably be the last run before sundays effort. However writing this, I think that I won't be able to hold out and will go for another run before then.
Dist= 5.13km
Time= 29.18
Pace= 5.42/km

I'm pretty sure I drive through Everton Hills when I go from Toowoomba to the Sunny Coast and there seems to be plenty of hills alright - even the car needs a bit of grunt to get up them! Great run and I'm happy to report I'm picking up a Garmin next week!
Great run Shane! Sounds like you are well on your way back.
Have a Happy New Year!
Probably see you at BRRC tomorrow.
Sounds like a very nice scenic place to run and great going on your comeback. Thanks for your comments my way and yes I finally cracked 2400 on Friday night.
All the best for 2006.
I keep seeing your name on the likes of Tessos' blog and thought I'd find out a little bit more about you :)
I use to go to Pats sessions without fail, currently rebuilding fitness after a bit of an ITB "holiday", hope to see you there in a couple of weeks (when I plan to get back there also :) )
