Month - 25k
YTD - 125k
Well my little Sammy did it. Not only did he make the whole way around but he absolutely smashed the 40 mins I expected him to get around in. 33.40 was his end result, outstanding for a 7 year old who has never ran that distance before. He will be below 30 mins in no time, possibly before he turns 8 in May. No pressure from me or Cass at all today. He pushed himself and had breaks when he needed them. I just helped out with his pacing as he wants to run fast all the time. Excellent effort.
Anyway I obviously ran my son and didn't compete, however I managed a 5k run prior to running the 5k with him. Then I caught up with my wife and MIL and helped them around the last 500m. So all in all 11k by 8am this morning which was a good solid morning for me.
Cass achieved a PB also with 43.48 now being her best time for the Riverway course.

Well done Sammy! 5k is a hell of a long way for a young bloke. Good going Cass too - nothing like a new Parkrun PB!
Thanks Ewen, yeah they are pretty chuffed with their results. Sammy was red faced and puffed by the end :-)
