8 Month Hiatus

I have a few things going on with my life at the moment some that I will not get into that have not only caused my training to be virtually non existent but caused the 8 month hiatus from blogger. I am making no predictions as to how long this return will last, hopefully for the unforeseen future but you never now what s going to get in your way.

So what has been going on in regards to my training? Well bluntly bugger all, since a trip to NZ in Nov / Dec I can count on one hand how many times I have been for a run. The reason for ths was due to an injury that I have never had before. Groin / Lower Abdominal issue that the physio stated was bordering on Osteitis Pubis. This was aggravating to train with for a many months before I decided to give it up and it was a hard decision to do so but I am better for it now. I can say that it is not 100 % still but the last 3 or 4 runs I have had no issue with pain in that region. I just don't want to push is too early.

I am not going to draw this first post of 2011 out but the previous few sessions I have conducted have resulted in times that are still ok for me consdiering my absence. I have ran a 5k TT at work and achieved 20.40 and recently as in yesterday I ran a loop that I have been training on since I moved to Victoria which is about 4k of undulating road and trails in 17.23 about a minute and a half slower than my PB.

Anyway that is all for today I just wanted to kick off blogging in 2011 when my fitness and motivation was on the improve which I hope to will continue.

Good to hear from you Shane. Sounds like a frustrating injury. Take care with the comeback - don't try and smash those course PBs too soon ;)
