New Shoes Sunday

After spending another hour or so at the shops I finally made a decision and bought a new pair of shoes. It all began this morning when I decided that I would make a trip to Intraining, quite a drive from where I live but I was having no luck at the other stores.

Anyway half way there I realised I forgot the street directory and was only going off memory of the address for the store. I hadn't been there before and after cutting a few laps of Milton I still haven't been to the store.

I drove back to Chermside a rather large shopping centre and visited the same shops, taking my adventure a bit more serious now. I wasn't leaving until I had a pair. After walking around I realised that getting another pair of Adidas was near impossible, the stores are only stocking the base models which is no good for me.

I tried on a pair of New Balance and although I liked how they are made they are a little chunky. I arrived at a smaller sports shop which was my last resort. I noticed yesterday that they had one pair of Adidas I liked but when I asked for my size they only had a pair 1/2 a size larger. Doh! I then spotted a pair of Saucony's, I had forgotten about this brand and I really liked the look of them. I tried them on.....Perfect!

So I am now a proud owner of Saucony Triumph 3 in green/white/silver. Here's a pic of them however the colour is different.

The last time I had a pair of Saucony's was when I first joined the Army almost 10 years ago. Back then I broke 8 mins for the first time for my 2.4km fitness assessment running 7.55. 12 months later I beat that time running 7.49 in the same pair of shoes. Hopefully I will get the same luck out of these ones :-)

I've never had Sauconys! They look good though - flexible which I like.

Glad the foot seems OK. All the best for a 2.4k PB :)

Mate 78 secs per 400m is absolutely smoking it up!
Do you think you can get back there?

Cheers R2B

Good on you for going outside the norm of Asics, Brooks or Nike. I remember a mate of mine in the 80s swearing by Saucony's.
